MAVLink HUD ("the App") is a professional Primary Flight Display (PFD) and telemetry dashboard designed for UAV/drone operators. We are committed to user privacy. MAVLink HUD does not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) or user data to remote servers or third parties.

1. Data Collection & Processing

All data processing occurs locally on your Android device:

  • No Personal Data: The App does not require account registration, login, or personal profile creation.
  • Flight Telemetry: Telemetry data (such as pitch, roll, airspeed, altitude, battery voltage, and flight modes) received via MAVLink UDP/Wi-Fi or serial connections is processed strictly in real-time on your device to update the heads-up display. Telemetry is never uploaded to external servers.
  • Map & Navigation Data: Map tiles are downloaded directly from mapping providers or loaded from your local device storage. No location history is recorded, tracked, or uploaded.

2. Device Permissions & Usage

The App requests specific Android device permissions strictly to enable flight display functionality:

  • Camera (android.permission.CAMERA): Required exclusively to display live video streams from connected USB (UVC) FPV receiver hardware via USB OTG. Live video frames are rendered on-screen in real time and are neither recorded to storage nor transmitted over the internet.
  • Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Required to determine your current position and display your home location on the map relative to the drone's position. Precise and approximate location data is processed solely on your device in real-time and is never shared or stored remotely.
  • Network & Wi-Fi Access (INTERNET, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Required to establish local UDP/TCP telemetry links with drone transmitters (such as ExpressLRS Wi-Fi hotspots or MAVLink gateways) and to fetch map tiles for offline and online navigation.
  • USB Access: Required to identify attached USB UVC video capture hardware.

3. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not share any user data with third parties. Standard HTTP tile requests made to map tile providers (such as Google Maps or MapLibre GL) contain only the standard network request data necessary to serve map tiles to your device.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

Because no user data or telemetry is collected or stored on remote servers, no user data retention occurs. All locally cached preferences and offline map tiles remain strictly on your device and can be cleared at any time via Android System Settings (Settings > Apps > MAVLink HUD > Storage > Clear Data) or by uninstalling the application.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
