- Default: 2
Description
SBAS uses a network of ground stations and geostationary satellites to provide corrections to your GPS receiver, potentially improving accuracy from ~2.5m down to ~1m.
- Usage: In North America (WAAS), Europe (EGNOS), and Japan (MSAS), enabling this (1) usually improves position stability.
- Why Disable? In some regions, SBAS satellites are very low on the horizon, or the ground station baseline is so long that the "corrections" actually add more noise than accuracy.
- Default (2): This is the safest setting, as it leaves the decision to the GPS manufacturer's factory defaults.
